Arrived not long ago Genshin Impact has a sixth region: Natlan. The colorful locations of this Pyro Kingdom are not only filled with all kinds of loot and hidden missions, but also with various riddles. In this guide, we’ll tell you what secrets Natlan is hiding and how to solve his mysterious puzzles.
What is phlogiston and how does it work?
First of all, Natlan boasted of a new mechanic based on a certain mysterious substance: phlogiston. Entering the territory of the Piro Kingdom, you will see a scale that appears above the HP, which is replenished in places where there is a large accumulation of phlogiston and is spent exclusively by the residents of Natlan, who enter a special stand .
Phlogiston exists in different forms: liquid and particulate. In the first case, the substance resembles lava, and when you get there, the HP of the active character will continuously decrease. The high electro water in Inazuma and Dragonspine has a similar mechanism, but with bitter cold. However, Colochosaurs can move along liquid phlogiston – sea saurs, in which the Traveler can live. Mualani and other unreleased members of the People of the Springs tribe have the same ability. When you take a special stance, the Hydro Catalyst floats over the lava without taking damage.
Another type of phlogiston are particles: they look like small spheres in the shape of flames. Collecting them allows you to increase the phlogiston level on the scale. Monuments with this substance work according to the same principle. When activated, phlogiston will replenish quickly.
But besides the fact that this element can be replenished, it can also be spent, and not only using the skills of playable characters, but also in the open world. There is a second type of monument that can be filled with a flammable substance and start a time trial or open a new path.
Blessing of the Night Spirit – what it is and how to use it
Blessing of the Night Spirit is a special stance for Natlan characters, activated primarily by an elemental ability. These poses make it easier and faster to move around the world: Mualani can swim on water for quite a long time, Kachina can climb steep slopes, of which there are many in the Piro region, and Kinich can cling to her grappling hook and jump. in the air. Such skills spend their own stamina, and if this runs out, they can use a phlogiston meter to extend the skill’s duration.
This not only helps in exploring difficult terrain, but also in battle with enemies. The same Mualani is able to win stacks and deal powerful blows, Kachina has two versions of the “eshka” that constantly deal damage to enemies, and Kinich has a complex gameplay: he hooks onto an enemy and jumps around him around, dealing Dendro damage. In the future, this mechanism will only develop in different forms.
Saurians: how to inhabit and how to use
Saurians are funny dragons that live all over Natlan. The traveler has a special bond with them and can inhabit the animals, using their skills to move around the world and solve puzzles. Next we will talk about the skills of all saurians:
Tepetlysaurus – can move along steep cliffs. Using an elemental skill, he can drill ore and dig up various objects from underground.
Colochosaurus – able to swim on water, dive and move along spiritual paths. This ability allows you to sprint, but it costs the Saurier’s stamina.
Yumkasaurus – Thanks to its long tongue, this saurian clings to spores in the air and is attracted to them. This allows you to move through the air and jump over obstacles.
All saurians have their own stamina, which is spent on the skill. When the stamina bar is low, dragons use the Night Spirit bar.
How to solve puzzles in Natlan
There are many different puzzles in the Pyro region. They are all primarily connected to the abilities of the Saurians, or to the workings of the ‘Night Spirit’, which all Natlans have. Later in the guide we will briefly discuss all types of Natlan riddles.
Spiritual paths – these are phlogiston lines along which you can get to various hard-to-reach places. They look like bright orange stripes. Using the paths isn’t difficult – just own a colochosaurus or use Mualani’s “yeshka” to jump onto the path. There are also special lines along which you have to catch particles, destroy targets and jump over cracks
Phlogiston carvings and discovery symbols – special characters that need to be compared with each other. Engravings are usually a lock that closes a passage, while symbols are keys that must be broken. Match the two signs, go to the colochosaurus and destroy the symbol.
Molten crack – looks like a red fracture in the rock. If you live in a Tepetlisaurus and use its ability, you can enter the crevice and quickly reach a certain point. With the help of such holes you can solve puzzles or simply reduce travel time.
Removable hooks – wooden devices that help drag objects. If you live in a Yumkasaurus, you can use your skills to grab a hook and, for example, move an iron box covering the entrance. In addition, these devices can be crumpled from one place and attached to another object.
Rolled grass print – a symbol hanging in the air. Such writings are spread throughout Sumer and resemble the Sumerian. While in the body of a Yumkasaurus, you can cling to it and move through the air. There are two types of stamps: red and green. The former allows you to easily move through the air, while the latter creates platforms for you to stop and rest.
Flame grenades – flammable fruits growing in Natlan. They are natural explosives and can not only undermine access to the rock, but also damage enemies. If you own a Yumkasaurus, you can throw these fruits at the target to solve the puzzle. However, if you interact with Piro’s flame grenade, it will explode immediately.
Manitou – an analogue of fairies in Natlan. Funny creatures of purple-orange color. If you bring them to your graffiti you can get a chest.
Rainbow rays – Natlan’s defensive design, which constantly attacks the character, shooting at him and causing damage. They can be taken out by getting close.
Riddles and puzzles in the Tekwemekan Valley
The Tekwemekan Valley is a fairly large area of Natlan, where you can find many puzzles that are not so easy to solve. Below we will tell you about the most difficult riddles of the valley and how to solve them.
The puzzle with blocked chests in the sulfur veins: how to solve
At the top of the mountain near the Sulfur Veins you can find three chests – rich, precious and luxurious, which are blocked, and there is not a single clue around. Below we will tell you how to solve the puzzle.
Use the underground teleport of the location and go to the top of the rock, for convenience you can take the tepetlisaurus. There will be treasure chests near a small stone with a design. To open them all, you will need to perform several steps.
First collect a local curiosity: the ashtray. These are orange-red buds that bloom when attacked by Piro. You only need one flower, if you don’t have it, go a little further, behind the chests and you will find several buttons on the next slope. Go back to the chests and place an ashtray in the bowl. Pyro-slimes appear that must be destroyed, after which a rich treasure chest opens.
Second, deal with the next group of slimes after you open the rich chest. After defeating opponents, a precious treasure chest will open. Collect the rewards from her to begin the third part of the puzzle.
Thirdly, after opening the precious chest, a time trial appears in which you have to defeat 9 opponents against the clock. Activate the pedestal and defeat the enemies, which will remove the lock on the luxury treasure chest.
Puzzle with alpacas in the north of the Zwaveladers
North of the Sulfur Veins you will find a hut where alpacas live. But not ordinary ones, but wooden ones. To solve this riddle, you need to find the missing figures and put them back in place.
Use the travel point in the north of the Tekwemekan Valley and go down a little lower to the pen with the statues. Once behind the gate, pick up all the figures. In the future they will have to be put in place. Read the sign next to it: it turns out that these figures constantly disappear from their places and the owner of the alpacas asks to return them. Animal figures appear in the inventory in the form of boxes. Walk around the area and bring them back to the areas marked with paint. Their location is indicated on the map.
The first alpaca should be on a stone with blue paint: just walk up and click “place”. The second is on the edge of the opposite stone, and the third is on the same pillar, but at the top. After returning all the figures, return to the pen – a precious chest awaits there.
Grille puzzle in the flooded ruins
In one of the underground locations of the Tekwemekan Valley there is a grate that opens with a key. The area itself – the Flooded Ruins – can be opened during the quest “Under the Crystal”, but you may have missed the key and the puzzle itself. Then we will tell you how to open the grid and get rewards.
Use the teleport closest to the indicated point and turn right into a small cave just below. You are at a grate, near a switch. However, it is activated by a key that can be found nearby.
If you did not do it according to the instructions, return to the indicated place and, after entering the narrow door, get the key on the stairs near the dilapidated statue, then return and lift the grate.
