Black Myth: Wukong is a fairly long game. It has a lot of content and six chapters. The developers encourage exploration and searching for secrets, so they reserved the second true ending for everyone who can explore the new product far and wide. However, the conditions for obtaining it were not the most obvious, so we have prepared a guide on how to unlock the standard and extended endings and what is required for this.
How to get the default ending
The main plot of Black Myth: Wukong revolves around the search for the relics of Sun Wukong. There are six of them in total, the same number of levels. To get the standard ending, simply defeat all the bosses at the end of the chapters. You don’t need to look for secrets and hidden equipment; what is revealed in the story is enough.
How to unlock the hidden ending
But here everything is much more complicated. First you need to find and explore all the hidden locations. There are 4 of them in total, and for each there are individual unlock conditions. Moreover, in secret locations there will definitely be secret bosses, or even several, which still need to be defeated. Locations are hidden in chapters 1, 2, 4 and 5. We have a guide on how to unlock access, so we will not go into detail here. Let’s say that in the first chapter you need to find three bells, in the second you need to help a drunken boar, in the fourth you need to defeat a special boss twice, and in the fifth you need to help a bull.
However, this is not all that remains to be done. There is no secret area in the third chapter, but there will be a Treasure Hunter mission that you should definitely complete. You will find it on the northern shore of Lake Gorky. From the shrine, turn 180 degrees and follow the shoreline. Eventually, you will reach the temple, where the Hunter will be attacked by enemies. If you have made a lot of progress in the story, the NPC may not be in the temple – there is nothing wrong with that.
Talk to the hunter, or if he is not there, go to the altar “From the Forest of Happiness”. There will be a gate, go through it and keep left. You need to go to the shrine “Tower of Karma”. There is a hunter sitting on a tree. Talk to him and activate the Ring of Fire spell. A cutscene will start immediately, after which you need to talk to the NPC again to the end.
Now we are looking for the Melon Field. Start again at the From the Forest of Happiness shrine, but do not go through the gate. To the right of it is a slope that you can go down. There will be a flooded area below. There are three enemies on the rocks in the right corner. Defeat them and you can go to the Melon Field shrine there. There should be a large Buddha statue nearby. As soon as you approach it, a cutscene and a fight with the hunter will start. Make sure you defeat him.
Once you have fulfilled all the conditions and opened everything, return to the location of the third chapter to the shrine “Pagoda Kingdom, Snowy Path”. On the left side you will find a wooden bridge, go down it and go to the end. At the end of the path you will find the small monk who already appeared in the Treasure Hunter questline. Watch the cutscene and get access to an area called “Mount May”. Go a little further and find Erlang’s secret final boss, the Holy Deity. This is the hardest boss in the game, but if you defeat him you will get access to a new ending of the game.
