Star Wars Outlaws emphasizes stealth, and during certain missions you will have to rely on it completely – any detection will lead to immediate defeat. You cannot use weapons in these segments, which makes the challenge even greater. In this guide, we will tell you how to simplify stealth using the available game mechanics.

Stealth is an integral part of the game and some gamers have trouble completing the first levels of this type, as you have limited options at the beginning. However, there are techniques that can make stealth easier. You will have to unlock friendly NPCs and improve your skills, but if you stop and take the time to explore all the options available, stealth is not as difficult as it may seem at first.
Why is stealth so difficult in the game?
Stealth in Star Wars Outlaws is a major challenge, as enemies can easily spot you and some missions block the use of blasters. You will have to rely solely on your stealth skills and silent kills to get through dangerous areas unnoticed. Other parts of the game, such as clearing outposts or bases, also require a high level of stealth, as your main character is vulnerable and can die very quickly if spotted in the open.
Later in the game, the heroine will become more resilient and will be able to withstand long firefights, but on the first planet you will be forced to “fight for survival.” That is why secrecy plays such an important role. The enemies are very unpredictable, there are a lot of them, and some missions will immediately fail if even one enemy is watching you. It is important to study the behavior of enemies, use the environment and your capabilities to the maximum in order to remain unnoticed and successfully complete tasks.
How do you use Nyx for stealth?
Nyx is the furry and loyal companion of the main character in Star Wars Outlaws. Fully understanding his abilities is a key element for successful stealth management. Let’s take a look at what exactly Knicks can do for you and why you should use his talents more often.

Nix vision
Don’t forget to use Nix Vision regularly. This skill allows you to spot enemies on the map before they spot you, giving you a significant advantage in any situation.
Distracting enemies
Sending Nyx to distract enemies is another important aspect of his usefulness. You can point at any location and Nyx will stand there, distracting enemies until you call him back. This allows you to change the enemy’s line of sight and attack them from behind. If the enemy starts searching, send a companion to distract them before you are spotted. This will cause the guards to stop and look for the companion. They usually won’t keep moving in his direction, but will stand in one place for a while. Additionally, they won’t sound the alarm when they see Nyx, giving you extra time to maneuver and make a decision.
Distraction from the camera

Nyx is also capable of distracting cameras. A camera is pointed at him and distracted by a companion: this stops his movement and makes it easier for you to sneak through unnoticed.
Destroying enemies
Finally, Nyx can be used to destroy enemies. The command “Attack” is a decisive element for covert penetration. Use this ability to eliminate opponents without sound or alarm.
- Target an enemy with Nyx to use the attack command. This blocks the enemy’s line of sight and completely stuns them, while alerting nearby enemy fighters.
- When facing two enemies, send Nyx to attack. While one guard is distracted, you can neutralize its partner. If an enemy notices Nyx’s attack, it will start shooting at it, forcing its companion to retreat. This will take some time, however, which you can use to take out the attacking guard and then deal with the one Nyx attacked.

All in all, Nyx is not just a furry companion, but an indispensable ally that will help you stay undetected and complete missions successfully.
Other useful features:
- Use a whistle to distract enemies from their posts. To do this, hold [D-Pad: Вправо]crouched in combat zones. This will help you attract enemy attention and pull them out of their position.
- If you kill a lured enemy in cover or tall grass, you can automatically move the body to hide it. Early in the game, this is the only way to hide bodies and avoid detection.
- Nyx can also close doors. Use this ability to block enemy sightlines while stealing. This will give you extra time and room to maneuver.
- Additionally, instruct Nyx to “sabotage” the alarm panels to prevent you from calling for reinforcements if you are caught. This ability will help you keep the situation under control and avoid unnecessary confrontations.
What skills can you use for stealth?
Skills are new abilities that you can acquire by completing mini-challenges for individual NPCs. The first contact becomes available on the starting planet, but as you progress through the story or explore later planets on your own, you can unlock new contacts. Once you unlock a contact, you will see a list of their abilities and the steps you need to take to activate them.

These skills are worth unlocking as early as possible to make stealth much easier. Many of these skills can be obtained on Tarosh, the first planet.
- “Fast talking”: This bartender skill is unlocked by performing stealth kills and distracting enemies with Nyx, then eliminating the enemy while they are distracted. The ability allows you to falsely surrender. During the conversation, one guard will approach, but they will not be alert until the timer runs out.
If you use Quick Speech, you can walk up to an enemy and take them out with a few hits. If you have blasters, you can also use Stun Shot. One of the powerful features of this ability is that you can use it to retreat after being caught, and hide by losing line of sight to the guard. This prevents the alarm from being raised.
NB: At the beginning of the game, this skill does not work against Imperial soldiers. If you try to use Fast Speech, you will be arrested. It only works against cartels and other criminals!
- “Keep talking”: An improved version of the previous skill that affects multiple enemies and has a longer duration. This skill is ideal for use with Adrenaline Rush to clear out groups of enemies or retreat quickly.
- Smoke bomb: Such bombs create smokescreens for you to hide in, like tall grass or thick steam on Imperial bases. This ability is unlocked after an encounter with The Mechanic, the second major contact NPC you can’t miss as you progress through the story.

To make a smoke bomb you will need a smoke compressor and other materials. Go to the “Abilities” tab in the menu and select the necessary materials. A marker on the map will show you where to collect them.
How to Make Stealth Easier with Slicer Skills
Slicer is the third contact on Toshar, but unlike the previous two, her encounter is easy to miss. Players will primarily use her to unlock the upgraded Slicer Kit ability, but she also has many hidden abilities that will come in handy as you progress through the game.

How to unlock Slicer
Complete the accompanying quest to unlock the Slicer contact. Find her by talking to the NPC at the bar in Mirogana Crimson Dawn. If your relationship with Crimson Dawn isn’t the best, you can sneak into their territory through the same bar and go to the back room to talk to her.
After this, you will be sent to a small Imperial outpost to retrieve the item. Once you have received it, you will be redirected to a larger Imperial base. Help Slicer sabotage the base and escape to gain her as a permanent contact.
What Slicer features you can use
- Lightfoot: This skill makes you less noticeable when sneaking around enemies. An absolutely essential skill that is easy to unlock.
- Concussion Smoke: This upgrade increases the range and power of your smoke grenades. The explosion now staggers all enemies within the smoke grenade’s radius.
