7 Days to Die is a survival game with building elements. In order to cope with the local zombies, you will not only have to fight, but also develop your settlement. During the game, you will need resources that you can find yourself or buy from vendors. In our guide, you can learn how to communicate with local vendors.
Basic Information About Sellers in 7 Days to Die
- There is only one vendor in each of the five biomes. The location of the first one is marked on your map after completing the main storyline starting missions. The following merchants can be found on your own as you explore the open world or complete a special task.
- Merchants live in their bases, which cannot be penetrated by zombies. They are open from 4-05 to 21-50. You cannot stay overnight in the merchant’s house; after the shop’s opening hours, you will simply be moved outside.
- Each seller has their own unique assortment, which will expand as they complete their personal quests. The selection of products is updated once every three days.
- At the base itself, next to the trader, you will find boxes with supplies and machines where you can buy basic materials.
- Each seller has his own specialist product, which is sold at a lower cost and in a wider range.
Trader Missions in 7 Days to Die
Merchants’ tasks include searching for treasures and other items, destroying targets, and more complex missions. Each of them will earn you one or more reputation points. Once their number reaches ten, a special task will appear that will allow you to find the next merchant in another biome. To open another one, you will need ten more reputation points.
Note that the tasks of the vendors are not difficult, but they also provide experience points, money and valuable materials. We strongly recommend that you go through them all. For every ten reputation levels, you unlock a new shooting gallery. This way you will receive additional rewards and unlock new, more difficult quests. If the first quests are related to small houses, the last ones take place in factories and fortresses infested with aggressive zombies.
To start the quest, talk to the merchant about the job he offers. You can only activate two orders at a time on one level. After that, you need to go to the point of interest and interact with the big exclamation mark. There is no time limit, but if you leave the location, the mission will fail. One merchant can give a limited number of tasks per day. If they run out, spend a night and come back the next morning.
There are a total of six types of merchant quests in the game:
- Buried supplies. You have to find a box of provisions and dig it out with a shovel.
- Hidden bag. You must find a bag of supplies and take it to the merchant.
- To clean. You must arrive at the designated point and kill all zombies in the area. Do not leave the area until your quest log indicates that you have cleared all the living dead.
- Bring it in and clean it up. A special type of task that combines instructions from the previous two paragraphs.
- Restoring power. This quest option is only available at night. You need to go to a certain point in the dark and turn on the generator. It is true that you can collect the reward only during the day.
- Cleaning up the infected. A more difficult version of the third type of task, as you have to fight wild and radioactive zombies. However, as you complete this task, you can obtain valuable resources and weapons.
How to Make Salespeople More Efficient in 7 Days to Die
The game has two advantages that can be useful when communicating with merchants. The ability to make profitable trades lowers the prices of merchants and at the same time increases the cost of your items that you want to sell. And the Daring Adventurer skill increases the reward for completing trade tasks and expands the range of their goods.
Also pay attention to consumables that increase trading efficiency. Chewing gum ‘Maybe’ and a cigar make all deals 10% more profitable, and grandpa’s cool rinse by 20%.
Trader Rekt
This seller from the forest biome specializes in seeds and various edibles. You won’t have any problems with him anyway, so the trader will be especially useful for those who have decided to become a professional farmer. Keep in mind that his assortment contains random goods from other categories, so in the early stages of the game we recommend visiting Rekt once every three days. There may be a situation when he has the item you need for sale.
Trader Jen
The most useful salesman early in the game. The girl’s assortment includes many antibiotics and other medical supplies that will be needed constantly. Do not save, buy as many bandages and medicines as possible to survive the next night when the zombies are most active.
Trader Hugo
Specialist in firearms. In the assortment you will find rifles and pistols, various cartridges for them, as well as parts necessary for crafting. Hugh is hidden in the snow biome, so it will not be easy to reach him. However, at least in the early stages of the game, his goods will be too expensive for you.
Trader Bob
As a resident of the desert biome, Bob is well versed in cars and various tools. It will come in handy in the middle of the passage, if you have enough resources to make your own vehicle. Some components can be purchased from this vendor.
Trader Joel
Late in the game, when you reach the wasteland, look for Joel. This man will sell you armor sets that are essential for survival.
