If you don’t like the main character and want to play Dragon’s Dogma 2 again as a different character, you’re in for a surprise. The game itself does not offer the option to restart a new game. You will have to manually delete the saved files. We have discussed how to do this in a separate guide.

Theoretically, you can change the appearance of the character during the passage. To do this, you need to buy the Book of Metamorphosis for 500 rift crystals, and this is expensive. You are unlikely to want to waste such a valuable resource. Therefore, we recommend that you customize your character’s appearance from the start so that it suits you and matches your chosen tactics.

In most games, the main character’s appearance does not affect his abilities in any way. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, things are different. For example, short characters recover stamina faster, while tall characters have a larger inventory size.

If you played as a warrior, but suddenly decided to become a magician or vice versa, you do not need to start the passage again. It is enough to visit the Guild of Vocations, which are located in all major cities. As a rule, it is located inside or next to the hotel.

Additionally, some quests require you to play as a certain class. For example, in Vernworth there is a quest chain connected to Glyndwr. You can only launch it if your main character is a Sagittarius. That is why you will have to change classes regularly. It’s completely free.

If the first equipment upgrades are done with gold, the next ones will require rare resources. We recommend that you do not sell them, but keep them in a cache, even if you do not need them now. To upgrade your weapon you will need a blacksmith, with different artisans offering unique types of upgrades.

All your pawns, except the first one, will not reach the same level as you. Therefore, it is advisable to change them to more effective ones. In addition, it is worth creating an ultimate team of pawns, which will be effective in battle and while exploring locations.

For example, you can already put together a good team in the first city. It is desirable that it contains a warrior, archer, magician and thief. Later, as you determine your tactics, you can change the composition of the group.

Please note that pawns have passive abilities. It is advisable to find a character with a perk “Search Guide” (Search Guide). It will help you immediately find the desired target and not waste time looking for it in the open world. Another useful skill – “Summon Shield” (Shield Summons), which will help deter the most aggressive enemies. This is especially useful when playing as a Mage.

And if your companions have diametrically opposite character traits, they will periodically quarrel with each other. It is not only fun but also useful to understand local lore. For example, during conversations they can mention important events from the past.

Rift Crystals (RC) are a special resource needed to recruit new pawns. Furthermore, some merchants only accept this currency. You can find particularly rare and valuable items from it. That is why we recommend using crystals sparingly. It is advisable to first make sure that you really need a possible ally, and only then pay for him.

Each pawn has its own backpack in which you can leave your belongings. This can be useful on long journeys, especially if you’re used to taking enemy equipment from the battlefield and selling it to local merchants. And if your inventory is overloaded, you’ll move and fight slower, and use up your stamina faster.

You can increase your carrying weight by using special rings And golden beetles. The latter are often found on tree trunks and glow brightly at night.

Each pawn has its own equipment. If you no longer need someone, open his inventory and take the contents for yourself. Then feel free to send the character home.

In the game, a situation is possible when you cannot find the resource you need to complete a task, although you have already explored the area inside and out. Most likely, to get one item you will have to combine two others. Before such experiments, it is advisable to remember in advance what exactly you found at the search location, in order to reduce the number of parts that need to be combined.

The game automatically saves all progress. But if the search fails and you want to load, you will have to save manually. This is only possible in hotels. It is true that you have to pay for your holiday. We recommend only spending the night there before important missions.

In the early stages of the game, it is advisable to explore the world only during the day. In the dark you can encounter extremely strong monsters that can easily kill you and your pawns. Therefore, it is better to spend the night in a safe place, for example in a city. Go to bed to kill time.

Large monsters like cyclops or dragons have an impressive health bar. Sometimes even dealing damage to them is problematic, especially if you’re playing as a melee warrior. But you have the option to jump on their back and deliver several critical hits. It is important to monitor your endurance. It is advisable to jump from the giant’s back before he throws you away himself.

In the same way you can climb on flying opponents. You can even determine the direction of your flight.

With the help of consumables you can only partially replenish your vitality scale. To fully recover, you need to spend a holiday in a camp. Fortunately, you can break it in any safe place. You need a walking package for this. Keep in mind that they differ from each other and some have passive bonuses that work in specific locations. The set itself is heavy, so it is better to let the pawn carry it.

While you relax, you can cook meat over a fire and waste time. For example, changing the night to a safer day.

During battle, an NPC can die from an enemy attack. In this case, you can revive him. You will need “Stone of Awakening”. But keep in mind that if you don’t meet the allotted time, the character will die forever and you won’t be able to bring him back to life in any way.

The Awakening Stone can also be used to bring yourself back to life. But here you need to think carefully whether it is worth wasting such a valuable resource or whether it is better to load the last save. For example, it is wise to use a stone if you almost finished the boss, but died due to his attack.

The ability to throw objects will be useful for melee fighters when they cannot reach the enemy with a sword. We’re mainly talking about flying monsters. Moreover, you can throw not only a stone at it, but also a small living creature. To increase the damage done, pour oil on it and set it on fire.

You should not take on all the tasks one after the other. Some of them have a timer. If you don’t meet the allotted time, the quest will fail. It is advisable to make sure in advance that the assignment has a time limit and then decide whether you are ready for it now.
