Where are the Cities: Skylines 2 save files?
When you first start Cities: Skylines 2, the game will automatically create a save folder in certain locations depending on your device:
- Windows PC: C:/Users/Username/AppData/Local/Colossal Order/Cities_Skylines 2/Saved
- Steam: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/userdata/userID/949230/remote/Cities Skylines 2
Saved games are stored in files with the .crp extension. They contain all data about cities, maps, settings, mods and progress. For example, in Windows you might see:
- C:/Users/YourName/AppData/Local/Colossal Order/Cities_Skylines 2/Saves/Region1.crp

Where are Cities Skylines 2 saves on consoles?
On Xbox: Open My Games & Apps, select Cities Skylines 2 and navigate to your save files under Saved Games.
On PlayStation: Go to Settings – Save Data – Save Data (PS5) and find the Cities Skylines 2 save files.
How to create your own save folder
You can choose your own folder to store your saved files:
- Create a Saves folder in any convenient location on your hard drive or in the main folder of the game.
- In the game, select “Options” – “Gameplay” – “Save game folder”.
- Specify your personal folder.
- Connect a USB stick or hard drive.
- Go to “My games and applications” – “Cities Skylines 2” – “Manage game and add-ons” – “Save data”.
- Select ‘Transfer saved files to external storage’.
- Connect a USB stick or hard drive.
- Go to Settings – Saved Data – Saved Data (PS5) – City Skylines 2.
- Check the saved files and select “Copy to USB drive”.
