How to rescue and tame a pet baby bear in Baldur’s Gate 3

IN Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of characters ready to take on your adventure. They are not all easy to find, sometimes you have to take a few extra steps. In this guide, we will tell you how to tame a baby bear almost at the beginning of the game and settle the animal in the squad camp.

After somehow exploring the Druid Grove, head to the goblin camp. The conflict between these two groups takes place at the starting location, right after the illithide ship crashes. We don’t care which side you decide to support, as long as you don’t rush straight to the goblin camp.

From the Grove, head east into the woods. Try to stay on the right side of the map so you don’t miss the right spot. If you are already on the bridge that leads to the goblin-invaded village, turn right just before the gate.

You need to find a cave. It’s big enough to notice the entrance without any scrutiny. Inside, a female bear and a cub await. There is also a small shrine with a closed coffin. The cave can be freely explored before interacting with animals.

The situation can develop in different ways. First, you can either kill the female on your own initiative or support some goblin servants preparing to attack. However, in no case should you kill the cub. After the battle, an extra choice appears where the little bear owl has to stay alive.

Depending on your characteristics, battles can be avoided. The skill “Conversation with animals” will help a lot. If everything worked out, just leave the female alone, after another long rest, the goblins will kill her themselves.

Don’t forget to explore the sanctuary. There is a locked chest that deals damage every time you try to open it. To get around the defenses, jump to the large statue and inspect it from behind. If you are observant enough you will find a Seluni prayer sheet. Say a prayer in front of the box and take the contents.

Regardless of how the situation in the nest ends, leave from there and leave the cub alone or with the mother. Now it can be found in the gnome camp.

You visit the camp according to the plot. At first you will have to go through the conquered village, where you will immediately be met by aggressive archers, but it is quite easy to persuade them to skip.

The next obstacle is the guard in front of the camp entrance. Try to chat him up, otherwise you will have to clear the whole camp, and this is a long and difficult battle. If you decide to take out the goblins, we recommend that you kill them in small groups so that the others don’t raise the alarm.

In the lower left corner of the camp’s main hall, you’ll find a goblin named Krolla. If there is no cub around, take a long rest, he will definitely appear.
