A few days after release God of War: Ragnarok on Metacritic has the first ratings from the players. They don’t quite agree with the critics who gave the adventure a 9.4.
At the time of writing, the PS5 version has a score of 8.4 and the PS4 version has a score of 7.3. Some owners of old generation consoles give the game zeros and complain about poor optimization, bugs and crashes. Also, two users berated the project for boring gameplay and a small number of innovations.
Most user ratings on the PS5 game page. Out of 701 reviews, 109 are negative and 30 are mixed. Disgruntled call the sequel a massive DLC, noting “old boring gameplay“,”boring plot“,”boring puzzles“,”bad level design“.

However, most players are absolutely thrilled with the new Santa Monica project. There are only dozens on the positive reviews page, and only the occasional nines and eights flash in the list.
