It isn’t the end for the Save Me team. Reports from the portal Something Happening reveal that the program La fabrica de la tele, hosted by Jorge Javier Vázquez until now, has been canceled. An emergency meeting led by Mediaset yesterday resulted in a halt to the project and the decision to introduce a new format featuring the Save Me team if circumstances shift.
Earlier in the month, it emerged that Mediaset stepped back from Save Me after a 14-year run on air. The announcement hit the industry with surprising force. It was later disclosed that the production company La fabrica de tele planned to file an ERE to reduce a large portion of the cast.
Following the last Save Me broadcast on June 23, there are signs that opportunities may still exist. Algo Pasha reported that a meeting took place between the leaders of Tele Fabrica de Tele and Mediaset yesterday to discuss a new format for the group. The proposed show would resemble a format similar to Sálvame.
“Save Me” launches a new lighthearted version with sharper jabs at Mediaset and Ana Rosa
According to Something Happening, after this development, the TV factory informed workers that the current employment regulation file would be paused for the time being.
The end of ‘Save Me’
The finale of Save Me comes after fourteen years on the air, during which it often topped audience charts. In the last two years, the show’s share declined, a trend coinciding with the release of the documentary series Rocío, tell the truth, live the life and the debut of the Turkish soap Tierra Amarga on Antena 3.
The decision to overhaul the format and the lineup of collaborators was part of Mediaset’s broader strategy to rekindle viewer interest and expand the brand’s appeal. This shift also aligns with broader moves within Telecinco toward lighter, whiter content. As a result, the hours dedicated to the program hosted by Jorge Javier Vázquez appear to be drawing to a close.
Since the company’s move became public, social media has been a hotbed of activity, with fans rallying to save the program. In recent days, audience numbers have shown a tentative rebound as discussions continue and public sentiment remains engaged.
