Pirates of Pangea, the project from Pangea Game Studios, has unveiled a fresh trailer and opened a Kickstarter fundraiser aimed at raising at least 25,000 dollars. The campaign signals a push to bring a bold, open-seas survival adventure to a broader audience while inviting backers to join the voyage early on.
The game invites players to captain ships solo or team up with friends for cooperative voyages. Across a living, wandering world, they can explore tropical isles, establish bases, hunt for buried treasure, farm crops, fish, and prepare meals. Combat elements span both land and sea, letting crews engage rival factions and dangerous wildlife alike. The game draws inspiration from the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle, and explorers should expect unusual phenomena as they chart unknown waters. Anomalies appear suddenly, ferrying players to hidden locations where rare loot and unexpected encounters, from elusive creatures to enigmatic islands that vanish and reappear, await discovery.
At launch, Pirates of Pangea is planned to arrive on Steam Early Access, giving players access to both single-player and multiplayer modes. Early on, the experience will feature around 10 ships and roughly 400 items to craft, trade, and upgrade. Looking ahead, the development roadmap foresees the addition of more ships, new buildings and items, expanded puzzles, and fresh challenges to test crews. A new biome is expected to enrich exploration, along with controller support, seasonal events, and multiple difficulty levels. The user interface and animations are slated for further refinement to enhance immersion and responsiveness during gameplay.
If funding exceeds 100,000 dollars on Kickstarter, the team has committed to expanding Pirates of Pangea to consoles and mobile devices on Android and iOS, broadening access for players who prefer living room setups or handheld play.
