Journalists described a “turtle-like” gender as an identity in which a person feels a connection to turtles. The Mental Health Advisory Council in Oregon did not object, and officials expressed appreciation for the participation and views of council members.
The duties of the advisory body include identifying and proposing state resources in the field of mental health, guiding how funds and programs are used to support residents across the state.
Each member is elected for a two-year term and can be re-elected once in accordance with the council’s administrative regulations.
