Operación Triunfo continues to lay out the full plan for its return to Prime Video, and this week brings a fresh update about the judging and teaching lineup. Amid a pause in in-person auditions in Spain, Abril Zamora revealed new professional news this Tuesday: she will join the show’s academy as a teacher, under the direction of Noemi Galera.

Specifically, the star of Traitors of Spain on HBO Max takes over a key interpretive role, succeeding Iván Labanda, who is currently appearing in the musical Singing in the Rain, directed by Ángel Llàcer and Manu Guix.

Abril Zamora began her career on the stage at a very young age and has since premiered around twenty productions both in Spain and abroad, with works translated into several languages. One of her latest projects, Everything, is a series she wrote, directed, and starred in. She is also known for her role as Luna in the globally acclaimed series Vis a vis, and for her appearance in Edoardo Ponti’s La vida por delante, where she shared scenes with Sophia Loren. Zamora has contributed as a co-creator of the series The Ladies of (h)AMPA, writing and directing portions of it.

Beyond acting, Zamora has served as a screenwriter for two episodes of the successful youth drama Elite and has penned two novels for Planeta in the universe of the same series. She recently completed filming Alfonso Cortés-Cavanillas’ El Molino, the series Un nuevo amanecer, and the second season of Sagrada Familia. Additionally, Nuria Roca is noted as a collaborator in the La roca program she presents on laSexta.

In this context, Abril Zamora joins Noemí Galera, Manu Guix, Mamen Márquez, and Vicky Gómez, who will reprise the Gestmusic format within the faculty. The new season is slated to arrive on Prime Video later this year, bringing seasoned mentors together with emerging talents for a distinctive musical-television experience (Source: Prime Video press materials).
