Stylist Vlad Lisovets and designer Alena Akhmadullina advise embracing bold elements like black and sparkle when planning a New Year outfit, but with a priority on comfort. This guidance came from DEA News.
“Begin with what feels right on you or in the color you find most comfortable,” Lisovets remarked, suggesting that personal preference should trump astrology or other influences.
According to Akhmadullina, the goal is to look striking and luxurious even at home, while wearing something that feels like your own. He emphasized that one should not shy away from black, which pairs beautifully with accents of green and red, claiming it can look stunning in any setting.
“Don’t fear shine and don’t fear anything about the moment,” Lisovets added, encouraging confidence in festive attire.
Akhmadullina agrees, noting that black and deep green remain timeless choices. He also recommended selecting prints that echo natural motifs rendered in a digital style, such as snowflakes or flowers that appear pixelated or slightly distorted for a contemporary twist.
“Glossy textures and sparkly finishes like glitter, sequins, and metallic effects elevate the look,” he explained.
A recent poll examined what gifts Russians least want for the New Year. Clothing topped the list at 7%, followed by souvenirs at 6%.
