‘MasterChef’ is set to be a major investment for a spring season on public television. To mark its tenth edition, the format will premiere a season described as especially meaningful, with a series of weeks that promise excitement. The launch event brought together the three judges, Pepe Rodríguez, Jordi Cruz and Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, alongside the production partner Shine Iberia.

The communications and engagement chief highlighted that ‘MasterChef’ signals a prestigious bet for the network. The program has grown into one of the channel’s longest-running and most successful series, spreading the Spanish culinary brand and acting as a culinary journey across the country.

The Shine Iberia CEO emphasized that a decade into the show, it has already transformed many lives and fulfilled dreams. He described the tenth season as particularly special and expressed a commitment not to disappoint viewers.

The executive noted that while the format is international, the Spanish adaptation carries a unique formula. It blends humor, kitchen excellence, the distinctive atmosphere of a reality competition, and the inherent tension of high-stakes cooking in a way that sets it apart from other versions around the world.

The tenth edition is framed as a “Second Chance Edition.” He explained that several applicants have challenging life stories and found in cooking a path to transformation, turning simple moments into meaningful gifts through the culinary act.

In addition, Jordi Cruz pointed out that the show has helped to standardize and showcase many examples of national products, leaving the entire team satisfied with how the season is shaping up.

After a decade of documenting Spanish haute cuisine, Cruz observed that more viewers are cooking at home with greater awareness and preparation each year.

Samantha Vallejo-Nágera hinted at heightened emotional moments, predicting tears and epic moments as contestants bring both skill and unique personalities to the kitchens.
