Former gymnast and television host Laysan Utyasheva opened up on a YouTube show about one of the most personal chapters of her life: her first pregnancy, which she calls a miracle. She described a period of profound hardship that coincided with a dramatic life change and a steep physical decline.
During that difficult time, Utyasheva shed a great deal of weight, dropping to around 39–40 kilograms. The loss was linked to the death of her mother and the emotional strain that followed. The extreme weight loss disrupted her hormonal balance, and she stopped menstruating entirely, a fact that concerned doctors who were monitoring her health.
According to Utyasheva, medical professionals offered cautious, even bleak forecasts. They questioned whether she would be able to conceive at all and warned that recovery might take a very long time. The star recalls the odds were stacked against her, and the outlook from clinicians was far from hopeful.
In that moment of uncertainty, she found support from her coach, Irina Viner. Utyasheva recounts that Viner did not waver in her belief that motherhood could be part of her future. The coach is quoted as saying that if a person truly desires children, they would come in due time, a sentiment that gave Utyasheva a glimmer of hope amidst the doubts of others. She also credits she receiving encouragement from a spiritual place, saying a loved one from above would send angels to help, a comforting thought she shared publicly.
That same year, unexpectedly, Utyasheva learned she was pregnant. She admits she did not immediately notice the signs. With an irregular menstrual cycle, she did not immediately spend nights awaiting test results. It was during a vacation in Italy when she began to notice changes in her appetite and appetite patterns. Eventually, she and her husband, Pavel Volya, decided to take a pregnancy test and the result came back positive, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey into motherhood.
In a separate note, there was public mention of a different figure, Muceniece, who previously sought a substantial portion of alimony from Priluchny. That point highlights the broader context of public disputes involving families in the limelight, but it is not the focus of Utyasheva’s story.
