First edition of The Incredible Duo will be presented by Juan y Medio, with details disclosed by TVE
The public broadcaster TVE is finalizing the lineup and mechanics for a new musical format called The Incredible Duo. The premiere edition will be hosted by Juan y Medio, as reported exclusively by YOTELE. The show will be produced by Ganga, the team behind Cuéntame and HIT, and TVE has also announced the 16 artists who will participate in the twelve premieres.
The concept brings together eight celebrated veteran singers and eight widely recognized but younger performers. Each pair will join forces to interpret a broad selection of songs spanning multiple decades. The battles unfold across twelve premieres, with broadcasts expected to begin in October. The format promises a blend of nostalgia and contemporary energy, appealing to a wide audience that loves live music and star duets.
In the initial phase, the participants will be paired without prior sight of one another. The eight couples will then be divided into two groups. Directing decisions will be guided solely by vocal characteristics, allowing the natural chemistry of voice to steer the pairing and performance style. The build-up creates suspense as each duo discovers its own sound and potential harmonies on stage.
As the competition progresses, the eight duos will compete in a series of duels. The format starts with duels featuring four pairs from each group. The winners of these duels advance to a knockout stage, where teams confront each other in head-to-head battles. The structure emphasizes dramatic transformations and evolving arrangements as the duos refine their performances.
The elimination mechanism relies on a live audience vote. Viewers present on the set will cast their votes to determine which duos remain in the competition and which will be eliminated. The on-site voting adds an immediate, visceral element to the show, aligning spectator energy with the evolving dynamics of each performance.
