At 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, Apple opened its fall presentation with a showcase of new smartphones and wearables. This summary gathers the most noteworthy details from the event.

Smartwatch Apple Watch Series 8

The lineup introduces the latest Apple Watch iteration, the Apple Watch Series 8. It inherits the look, core features, and user interface of its predecessor, Series 7, while adding a dedicated temperature sensor that tracks deviations from normal ranges rather than providing an overall body temperature reading.

The watch now includes capabilities to monitor women’s cycles, taking into account ovulation patterns and any irregularities. It can also detect a potential accident. If an incident occurs, the device can automatically contact emergency services. This is made possible by the enhanced gyroscope and accelerometer, which can relay accident coordinates, microphone audio, and the wearers vitals to responders if needed.

Charging times remain similar, with about 18 hours in standard mode and 36 hours in low-power mode. The base model is offered in four colors: blue, silver, red, and Stardust, with interchangeable bands and Nike-branded watch faces that extend across the lineup.

Pricing details follow, along with information on full feature sets. The watch is scheduled to go on sale on September 16.

Smartwatch Apple Watch SE 2

The Apple Watch SE 2 presents a more approachable option that still delivers substantial capabilities. Key features include heart rate monitoring, multiple workout modes, and sleep tracking.

Color options include silver, black, and Stardust. Its design echoes the Series 4.5 and 6 releases, with an updated rear panel. The SE 2 leverages the same Series 8 gyroscope and accelerometer, and it can report car accidents when necessary.

    Availability begins September 16.

    Smartwatch Apple Watch Ultra

The Ultra model features a titanium case and a sapphire crystal, plus the largest display in Apple Watch history. It maintains glove-friendly button controls and emphasizes rugged durability. A second speaker provides louder audio and extended battery life, reaching up to 36 hours in the standard mode and up to 60 hours in energy-saving mode. The Apple Watch Ultra starts at $799 and goes on sale September 23.

    Headphones AirPods Pro 2

AirPods Pro 2 introduce the H2 chip and enhanced active noise cancellation. A new adaptive fit system aims to tailor sound to each ear for higher fidelity. Four ear tip sizes will be available to ensure a comfortable seal. Battery life is up to six hours on a single charge, with the charging case providing roughly 30 more hours. The case includes a built-in speaker for easier locating, and can be charged via cable from an iPhone, Apple Watch, or wirelessly. Gesture controls also allow volume adjustments by swiping the earcup.

    iPhone 14 and 14 Plus

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus feature 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays with brightness up to 1200 nits and Dolby Vision support. The 14 Plus touts the longest battery life in the line. Unlike some prior years, a mini model is not offered; the Plus version fills that space instead. Five color options are planned.

The two devices boast a dual main camera system with 12 MP sensors that perform noticeably better in low light. Stabilization comes from both optical and digital methods, and the front camera includes autofocus. An updated Deep Fusion system and the Photonic Engine enhance night photography across all cameras, including the front. A new stabilization mode for video was announced as well.

Powering the devices is the A15 Bionic processor, configured similarly to the version used in the 13 Pro models, with six CPU cores and five GPU cores. This aligns the base models’ performance with last year’s flagship iPhones. Improved eSIM management enables quick operator switching, and the US version of the iPhone 14 will omit a physical SIM slot altogether.

The iPhone 14 lineup includes sensors capable of sending crash alerts, a feature also found on the Apple Watch Series 8. Satellite SOS messaging is promised, though initially limited to the US and Canada for the first two years of iPhone 14 usage. This capability allows users to share their location and predefined messages with rescue authorities when connectivity is unavailable.

Pricing begins at $799 for the iPhone 14 and $899 for the 14 Plus, with sales starting September 16 and October 7 respectively for the Plus model.

iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max

A new design introduces a cutout replacing the notch, referred to as a Dynamic Island, and a new color option: dark purple. The Pro models deliver bright displays at 1600 nits with a peak of 2000 nits, while the diagonals stay the same and the thin bezels become even sleeker.

The devices use the A16 processor paired with a 48 MP main camera, featuring larger sensors to capture more light and improve image quality.

    • iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999.
    • iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at $1099.

    Pre-orders begin September 16.

A playful note references a popular Steam release in July, which is mentioned for context within the event’s broader announcements.
