One of the most discussed plays in Russia, Atomic Heart, will be filmed and shown to the audience in 2025-2029. Representatives of Kinopoisk and Plus Studio announced this at the presentation of the new season.

Roman Kantor (“Epidemic,” “The Master and Margarita”) will write the script, set in a retrofuturistic universe of an alternative 1950s USSR where the robot uprising has taken place. Filming is set to begin next year. Work on the project is under the joint creative control of Mundfish studio, the creators of the video game.

Video games and related content is a new strategic direction for Plus Studio. The game will be complemented by original series, books and comics. The company will also produce the game and series “Diamond Sword, Wooden Sword” based on the fiction of Nik Perumov together with Acronix.

“We realized that our audience’s experience would be incomplete if we did not offer them another form of entertainment in the coming years: video games. Now there are gaming companies in the Russian market with whom we are interested in creating new worlds and new heroes. We hope that our projects will become an important part of the mass culture in our country,” said Mikhail Kitaev, head of Plus Studio.

Previous creators of Atomic Heart showed The first images of the new DLC about the underwater laboratory.
