How social networks affect self-esteem was explained to Russians

Almost 30 percent of Russians edit their photos before publishing, and 16 percent have self-confidence problems due to social networks. This is the case of Take Charge! reported to socialbites.ca by the service.

Most survey respondents said they do not use any photo retouching apps. But there are some Russians who feel less beautiful and successful because of social networks, and some even say that blogs help them show themselves.

“22% of those surveyed admitted that they liked it when their photos got a lot of likes. 20% say they only value likes and comments from friends and family. Analysts noted that comments under posts helped only 6% of respondents cope with their complexes.

“Have you ever experienced complexes after examining social networks?” The overwhelming majority of Russians answered the question negatively.

“Only a quarter of respondents admitted that the Internet sometimes presents them with complexes. And 7% often experience complexes after watching social networks,” experts concluded.
