Princess Anne says monarchy stabilizes country

Princess Anne, sister of King Charles III of Great Britain, gave an interview on the eve of the coronation to the Canadian CBC television channel, in which she defended the institution of the monarchy in particular. It has been reported daily mail.

Referring to the recent discussions about the necessity of establishing a monarchy, Princess Anne said that such speeches will always be made, but she would not participate.

“Of course, there are times when such discussions need to be made. “However, I stress that the monarchy, together with the constitution, provides a level of stability in the long run, which is very difficult to achieve by other means,” said Princess Anne, 72.

He added that there are many people who understand how important it is to treat each other right, and that the monarchy shows what level one must reach and encourages movement in that direction.

In the interview, Princess Anne also complained that the COVID-19 lockdown has taken away the ability of older people to connect with loved ones, including her father, Prince Philip.

“Covid robbed my father, who lost a lot of people who could come to him, talk to him and have all those conversations that would interest him. She lost him,” said Princess Anne.
