Talking about her struggles growing up to find her “true true self,” the Duke of Sussex said, “I felt like I was a little different from the rest of my family. I felt weird in that box and I know my mom felt the same way, so it makes sense.”
During a session with a “toxic trauma” therapist, Harry also stated that his wife, Meghan Markle, helped him escape from an alien world, and by doing so saved him.
“They say my wife saved me, that I was stuck in that world, that she was from another world and helped me get out of there. <…> My partner is an extraordinary person and I am grateful to the Universe for giving it to me,” Prince Harry admitted.
She also said that psychotherapy helped her get over the trauma of her mother’s death and be happy, but at the same time she became increasingly distant from her family members because of it.
“It’s helping me, I’m starting to get to the point of trauma and open things up to be truly happy. But I also feel more and more distant from my loved ones and family,” the Duke said.
She noted that many families are complex and dysfunctional, but that psychotherapy has helped her master a “new language” that her relatives don’t know.
Prince Harry will host a psychotherapist series live on air, reported previously.
