Actor Simu Liu, best known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, may be working on an open-world action movie adaptation Sleeping dogs. Released in 2012, the game told the story of an undercover Hong Kong police officer who recently returned from the United States.
Simu Liu alluded to this during his speech at Comic-Con. The celebrity briefly spoke about a secret project, the details of which refer to Sleeping Dogs.

There is a video game with a protagonist, let’s say Asian-American, in Hong Kong. Maybe I’ll work on it. I won’t name the game because I don’t want to rush things. But this is something I’m very happy about.
The news about the possible participation of Simu Liu spread even more after his activity on social networks. The actor liked the post on Twitter to ask if he was talking about Sleeping Dogs, and also shared a note from The Illuminanerdi portal on Instargam Stories (owned by Meta, recognized as an extremist in Russia), showing his words on Comic -Con were discussed.

Recall that the movie about Sleeping Dogs was announced in 2017 – then the lead role would be played by Donnie Yen. In 2020, the Ip Man star hinted at preparations for filming an action movie, but as we know, they never started.
