Russians are told how much time a day they should spend reading 16:17

To develop the habit of reading, you need to spend 15 minutes a day for this activity and gradually increase the time. Writer and creative editor Egor Ivanov told socialbites.ca about this.

“Lack of time and distorted groupthink have made it difficult for people to find time to read books and focus on one thing at a time. To develop the reading habit, it is better to start with 10-15 minutes a day. This is not a lot, but with regular repetition the brain will get used to this process,” said Ivanov.

The author added that over time, the body will stop resisting the thought of reading.

“You can increase the time to 30 minutes. This is the best time to immerse yourself in the subject of the book and dive into the plot, but without overloading your brain. Once the body adapts to a new hobby, it will begin to “want” to continue. “Then 30 minutes would be your daily minimum,” he explained.

According to Ivanov, it is best to read in the morning, when you feel a surge of energy.

“The ideal option is to reserve the right time in the morning by setting an alarm, usually an hour before waking up. “This process must be started smoothly so that the body does not experience stress,” the author advised.

He concluded that reading helps develop imagination, improve memory, and broaden one’s horizons. At the same time, according to Ivanov, there is no need to keep track of the number of books read.

“You can read all the books in the world and still understand nothing about life. At the same time, there are uniquely educated people who have not picked up a book for several years. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to quality, not quantity, when reading. If you go through a book from beginning to end but don’t understand anything, then it’s a waste of time,” the author said.
