Three dresses of Princess Diana were sold at auction for 900 million rubles 13:53

Three dresses previously owned by Princess Diana were sold at Julien’s auction house for £1.3 million (more than 900 million rubles). This was reported by daily mail.

The most expensive lot was a red silk dress created for Princess Diana in the 1980s by her favorite British fashion designer Bruce Oldfield. The ex-wife of the British king wore the dress at least three times: twice in 1989 and once at the world premiere of the movie Hot Shots in London on November 18, 1991. The auction house’s representatives expected to fetch around £160,000 for the dress, but it ultimately fetched £458.5,000.

The second most expensive lot was a black and green bustier dress designed for Diana by fashion designer Catherine Walker, which the princess wore at an event in Canada in 1991. The dress, originally priced at £80,000, sold for £450,000.

The third outfit, a black velvet and ivory dress, also designed by Catherine Walker, sold for £407,000, with an original price of £48,000.

“This record amount from the sale of Princess Diana’s dresses has exceeded all our expectations,” said Martin Nolan, managing director of the Julien auction house.
