According to the study, demand for canned meat and fish increased the most in Omsk region (67% of respondents from this region stated that they have recently increased their consumption of canned meat and fish compared to last year), Nizhny Novgorod region (65% of respondents), Voronezh region ( 65%), St. Petersburg and Leningrad region (60%), Novosibirsk region (59%) and Chelyabinsk region (56%). 45% of respondents living in the capital mentioned the increase in canned meat and fish consumption.
Seasonality is the main reason why canned foods are purchased more often, according to a representative of the delivery service.
“March-April, the beginning of the summer season and when there is a need to buy products with a long shelf life, easy to prepare, out of town, walks and country trips. This factor was cited by 59% of respondents who increased their stew consumption this spring,” said Alexander Plekhanov, CEO of NePochta courier delivery service.
