Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, returns for the sequel to Just Like That. writes about it People.
The 66-year-old actress will reprise her iconic character in Season 2 of Just Like That. In a cameo, Cattrall’s character, Samantha Jones, will speak on the phone with Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker.
According to Variety, Cattrall filmed in New York City on March 22 “without seeing or talking to the stars of the show”, including Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. He also had no contact with series creator Michael Patrick King.
Last year, King told Variety that Samantha will be a part of the next season, which will premiere on June 22. “My goal is to bring all the characters together in such a way that they’re not in different places,” he added.
In the past, Cattrall has repeatedly stated that she does not want to return to the franchise.
Parker stated on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast in June 2022 that they “do not want” Kim Cattrall to return to the series.
