The sailing season has opened in Volgograd. According to the news of socialbites.ca, the head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Zarina Doğuzova, announced the launch with a ceremony held on the ship “Alexander Nevsky” in Volgograd.
“This is a very suitable type of vacation – for families with children, the adult generation and young people for whom cruises are becoming more and more popular. Overall, the Volga is one of the longest waterways in the world and hundreds of routes will be ready for our tourists this season,” said Zarina Doğuzova.
According to the calculations of the Federal Tourism Agency, about 700 thousand people will go on a cruise in Russia this year.
“As part of the travel refund program, we are seeing how the number of people who buy cruises under this program is increasing year over year. “About 100,000 people have already bought ships for themselves,” he said.
The cruise season in Russia will last until the beginning of October. This year, Russian companies offer more than 700 cruises on 150 different routes departing from 21 cities.
As Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said earlier, “Today domestic tourism is the most important artery of the regional economy.
