After meeting the brand-new Simon/Pelecanos duo on ‘The City Is Ours’ and recapping Watergate with ‘Gaslit’, more high-end drama events await us this week. Below are all of our bets.
1. ‘Barry (S3)’: my life as a (reluctant) murderer

hard series with and billingA clever mix of black comedy, suspense, and drama, it’s finally back after three years without new episodes. In this new episode, the titled anti-hero has decided to leave his past as a hitman behind forever and become a full-time gamer. Of course, on the way to that goal, Barry Berkman will always make the worst decisions or find himself in the worst place at the worst time. HBO Max, starting Monday the 25th.
2. ‘By heaven’s behest’: crime among Mormons

Dustin Lance BlackThe author of ‘My Name Is Harvey Milk’ explores the complexity of his Mormon roots in this adaptation of the author’s nonfiction book ‘I Will Obey God: God, Mormons, and Religion Bigotry’. Jon Krakauer about fundamentalist Mormons who murdered his sister-in-law and his fifteen-month-old daughter, as they declared by divine order. 3. ‘First Lady’: First Ladies of the first tier

Presidents don’t always make decisions on the subject in the West Wing, although it doesn’t come to light: First Ladies have a say, too. Aaron Cooley (‘Last Weekend in History’), Eleanor Roosevelt (Gillian Anderson), Betty Ford (michelle pfeiffer) and Michelle Obama (Viola Davis), only distant women in time. 4. ‘Light’: Elisabeth Moss in pursuit of the killer
silk louis (author of the upcoming ‘Blade Runner 2099′ series) cleverly adapted Lauren Beukes’ 2013 novel about an unlikely serial killer and the survivor who now sets out to hunt him down. Leading the squad, shining as always, Elizabeth Moss (‘The Handmaid’s Tale’), who is also the producer and director of this mute but twisted thriller, with multiple plot-level surprises. Better not inform. Apple TV+ from Friday 29th.
5. ‘Ozark (T4, chapter 2)’: Farewell to Byrdes
“There will always be people who are unhappy because nobody actually likes endings,” Chris Mundy, ‘Ozark’ showrunner, told us in a phone call a few months ago. “But those who have already seen it seem pleased.” In a few days we will all be able to comment on the end of a black (rural) saga that managed to electrify in a big way over four peak seasons and at the same time make us reflect on the duality of global capitalism.
