A burger joint alcohola place in Benidormanother restaurant moraira or a modern, beachy place in the provincial capital. Alberto Chicote visited various points of Alicante in various parts of it. ‘Nightmare in the kitchen’ and the result after the Madrid chief passed through the province didn’t always give the results the owners and chef expected.
Below you can find out which venues appeared on the popular La Sexta show, and whether the famous restaurants and bars are still open or closed (some with happy endings).

restaurant right now moraira Relics revealed in the first season of ‘The Kitchen Nightmare’ closed. The locals could not overcome the difficulties that they contacted Chicote and had to bring down the blind years ago (the program aired in 2012). After the closure, the owner of the establishment, Rafa Soler, explained to Vertele that Chicote is removing international cuisine from the menu and customers are leaving because of this: “No one wants to eat vine-cooked rice”. His son, on the other hand, explained that the main problem with ‘Da Vinci’ was the lack of equal work among those responsible and the bad relationship with his father: “We were going great, but I did everything and my father was partying.”
Alcoy (Restaurant ‘La Hamburguesia’ / ‘La Broqueta’)
One of the most remembered shows for fights, shouts and awkward situations was recorded in Alcoy, specifically the old ‘La Hamburguesia’ and renamed ‘La Broqueta’ in the program. In the local Chicote, insults and insults (famous “Are you a jerk or what’s wrong with you?” from the owner’s husband to the famous chef). The recording got so tense that the program reconsidered whether to continue with it or leave it at a loss: they didn’t, but despite their efforts it didn’t go ahead and ‘La Broqueta’ was also closed (it was finally). pierced).
What is interesting is that this transmission of this venue took place before the show aired, as evidenced by the advertisements that owner Clara and her husband put online: «Hi, we have a restaurant in Alcoy called La Broqueta that we would like to transfer, it will appear on Alberto Chicote’s television show Nightmare in the Kitchen late February – early March. facilities of 3 regions; Dining room for 45 people, children’s area for 25 people and interior terrace for 35 people. Benidorm (‘Harbour’)
Unpleasant scenes of “surprises” after opening the refrigerator and perusing the kitchen shops: Chicote had some rather unpleasant experiences while driving through ‘El Puerto’ in Benidorm. Especially for the cook whose rude and despotic demeanor doesn’t help things run (or at least peacefully). Alberto Chicote believed that the best thing for the survival of the place was to seek out another professional from the area to take care of the kitchen, and that was the case: the place has remained open to this day.
Alicante (‘Hot Beach’/’Golden Beach’)
Gold Beach, located in Alicante, announced that it was shut down on social networks after experiencing a ‘nightmare in the kitchen’ in 2018. They warned, however, that three more restaurants with the same restaurant are open operators following the closure of the facility. They announced on social networks that the best they could get from the program was “a magnificent and delicious cuisine”.
