Yulianna Avdeeva, the acclaimed Russian pianist, is recognized for a deep, expressive maturity that shines in every performance. She makes a return appearance with the Alicante Concert Ensemble, marking her third collaboration after 2012 and 2018. The concert is scheduled for Tuesday, October 10 at 20:00, at Teatro Principal in Alicante. The program will include works by Bach, Shostakovich, Szpilman, and Prokofiev.
The artist has been enjoying a remarkable artistic moment. Since her debut in the 2022/2023 season, she has performed at Carnegie Hall and with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, among other prestigious engagements. Her concert schedule has included appearances with Teodor Currentzius and the SWR Symphony Orchestra in Munich, Hamburg, and Vienna. She has also returned to Japan for performances in Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama, and Kyoto, followed by appearances with the hr-Sinfonieorchester under Andris Poga. Other notable collaborations include the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI under Juraj Valcuha and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra under Petr Popelka.

Her international ascent began with triumphs at the Bremen European Piano Competition, the Concours de Genève, and the Artur Rubinstein Memorial. The breakthrough came with victory at the Warsaw Chopin Competition in 2010, which helped launch a global performing career that continues to evolve.
Collaborations include the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic, Kremerata Baltica, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also performed with leading ensembles from the United States, including Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Montreal, under the baton of eminent conductors such as Manfred Honeck, Sir Mark Elder, Gustavo Dudamel, Marin Alsop, Kent Nagano, Marek Janowski, Vasily Petrenko, Vladimir Jurowski, and Robert Trevino. Her recital and concert programs regularly grace the world’s most prestigious concert halls, and she is a familiar figure at the Chopin Festivals and the La Roque d’Anthéron International Piano Festival.
Projects
The current season features notable performances and collaborations with renowned orchestras and conductors. Avdeeva is slated to perform with Joana Mallwitz and the Berlin Konzerthausorchester, Tugan Sokhiev and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. She will join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra with Petr Popelka, the Baltimore Symphony with James Conlon, the Galicia Symphony with Jaime Martin, the Barcelona Simfònica, and the Valencia Orchestra. A tour with the Eighteenth Century Orchestra in Japan is also planned, along with a return to the Sinfonia Nazionale della Rai Orchestra under Robert Trevino. Additionally, she is scheduled to appear with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Tugan Sokhiev.
Yulianna Avdeeva began her musical training at the age of five at the Moscow Gnessin School for Gifted Children under Elena Ivanova. She later studied with Vladimir Tropp and Konstantin Scherbakov, drawing inspiration from Dmitri Bashkirov, William Grant Naboré, and Fou Ts’ong during the Lake Como International Piano Academy experience.
