The VI M Fest organized by the Mediterráneo Foundation closes this Friday with a standout music night headlined by Pony Bravo and Nacho Casado. These two acts have left an imprint on Spain’s national scene and on Alicante’s music life thanks to their boundary pushing sound and fusion of styles. The concert will take place at the Aula de Cultura in Alicante, located at Avenida Doctor Gadea 1, starting at 8:30 p.m. Tickets for this final M Fest event are 15 euros in advance and 18 euros at the door.
Pony Bravo
Pony Bravo is a Seville based band that bends Andalusian rock in bold, critical ways, weaving together krautrock, flamenco, and other influences. Since their emergence in 2006 they have stood at the forefront of Spain’s independent music scene, and their latest album Tropico, released in 2024, gathers twelve tracks that invite listeners into a world of possible futures, where local sounds meet global textures. From its formation in 2006, Pony Bravo has become a touchstone of independent music, a vibrant Andalusian-tinged rock with kraut echoes carried through Seville’s imagery with their debut album Si bajo de espaldas no me da miedo y otras historias. The core lineup Daniel Alonso, Darío del Moral, Pablo Peña, Javier Rivera and Raúl Pérez forged that debut into an epic blend anchored in Andalusian sensibilities, a critical perspective, and ongoing genre remixing that has helped shape the band’s identity. In 2024, Pony Bravo released its fifth studio album Tropico, a collection of possible worlds anchored in an exotic dystopia where the band unfolds new ideas and explores new worlds through its twelve tracks.
Nacho Casado
Nacho Casado, a singer songwriter from Elche, stands out for an elegant fusion of pop, jazz and bossa nova. He will present his third album, Disco Bleu, a nuanced set that fuses influences from Brazilian music with a Mediterranean mood. The festival leadership celebrates the success of this sixth edition, noting that Alicante is a cultural benchmark, capable of attracting renowned artists and providing space for emerging talent. The VI M Fest has been a space where music, education and debate weave together, establishing itself as a central cultural platform in the province of Alicante. This edition continues to attract audiences from across Spain and beyond, including listeners in Canada and the United States who follow European indie scenes with keen interest and a sense of discovery.
