Valerie Zoidova, an actress known for her bold screen presence, revealed that a romantic scene in Rustam Mosafir’s biopic The King and the Jester altered her personal life. In a discussion with StarHit, the 22-year-old performer noted that the episode was filmed across multiple locations, yet it did not make it into the final cut.
She described the situation candidly, explaining that it was the last shift of the day when she learned about the decision. The news hit hard, and it caused strain in her relationship at the time, leaving her unsettled when she was told that the scene would be excluded from the finished film.
Within the series, Zoidova depicted two distinct roles. She portrayed the girlfriend of the group leader of King and the Jester, as well as a character described as the Lady of the Flies. Director Rustam Mosafir stated that the scene was filmed well and had potential, but ultimately the team chose to remove it because it did not seem to serve the drama’s intended arc.
The project titled Korol i Shut centers on the Russian rock band of the same name and their front figures Mikhail Gorshenev, known as Gorshka, and Andrey Knyazev, nicknamed Knyaz. The narrative also explores a parallel fantasy thread inspired by the vivid imagination embedded in the band’s lyrics. The main roles in The King and the Jester were portrayed by Konstantin Plotnikov, known as Pot, and Vlad Konoplev, who plays Prince.
Earlier reports mentioned the postponement or removal of a second portion of a documentary project focusing on Pot from The King and the Fool. The broader story weaves together real musical history with imaginative storytelling, offering viewers a look at ways a legendary duo influenced a generation and inspired multiple creative interpretations. The cast, set design, and period details contribute to a sense of authenticity while allowing room for lyrical fantasy and dramatic reinterpretation.
