This Alicante Provincial Booksellers and Stationery Entrepreneurs Association awarded the best youth stories for another year, recognizing the creativity of young writers who participated. More than 16,000 students from institutes and colleges across the region took part, reflecting a strong commitment to encouraging imagination and storytelling among the younger generation. The organizers noted that the competition aims to spark creativity and writing skills among youths, and the high level of participation underscored the event’s impact on schoolchildren and their willingness to share their stories with pride.
The jury honored seven standout stories and awarded prizes to seven students for their narratives. The first prize went to Estela Azahar Martin Gonzalez, a third-year ESO student at IES Francisco Figueras Pacheco in Alicante, for the story Paper Butterfly. The second prize was awarded to Ana Cordoba Garcia, a second-year ESO student at IES Jaime II in Alicante, for Like Every Tuesday. Jordi Jorda Monfort, a fourth-year ESO student at IES Pare Vitòria de Alcoy, earned third place with Shadows.
The judges also awarded three second prizes. Aitana Maria Moya Perez, a third-year ESO student at IES Cap de l’Aljub in Santa Pola, received Escape Room. Gabriela Segura Belda, a second-year ESO student at La Presentación School in Alcoy, earned You have something that is mine. Irene Guner Flores, a first-year ESO student at La Devesa School in Elche, received And this story is not repeatable.
Finally, the awarding of the bookseller prize went to Samuel Martinez Garcia, a first ESO student at the Diocesan School of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles in Alicante, for his story Somewhere in the Mind. Three special prizes were also given to participating schools during the last 18 tournaments of the contest: San Raimundo de Peñafort School in San Vicente del Raspeig, San Agustín de Orihuela School, and Pedro Herrero Medical School in Alicante.
The organization considers the competition a complete success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of young writers who once again demonstrated their great talent for storytelling.
