In an interview with utro.ru, actress Svetlana Kryuchkova discussed a public disagreement with television host Andrei Malakhov. She recalled that Malakhov once asked who first sang the song “Black and White” from the film “The Great Change.” The actress gave a straightforward answer: she believed she was the first to perform the song. Malakhov, however, disputed this, suggesting that another performer had originally delivered the version Kryuchkova credited to herself.
Kryuchkova later stated that she had asked Malakhov not to chase rumors that did not reflect reality. She affirmed that she was indeed the original interpreter of “Black and White,” and added that subsequent renditions were carried out by other singers, including Maria Pakhomenko and Veronika Kruglova.
Beyond this discussion, Kryuchkova is recognized for her portrayal of student Nelli Ledneva in the film “Big Break,” directed by Alexei Korenev. Her career also includes notable appearances in the youth series Yeralash, as well as the projects Liquidation and Moon at Zenith, among others.
In August, Kryuchkova recalled how director Eldar Ryazanov supported actors facing difficulties in the 1990s. She described how Ryazanov organized creative evenings at his cinema, offering a respite and creative space for those who were struggling during that era.
In a separate entertainment note, reports indicated that Leonardo DiCaprio’s car from The Wolf of Wall Street had been put up for auction, a piece of news that drew attention to rare film memorabilia in contemporary popular culture.
