Sonora, a music circuit curated by Generalitat Culture through the Valencian Institute of Culture, unfolds its fourth edition with an opening concert featuring Zoo. The event is set for Friday, September 30 at 10 pm and will take place at the Orihuela Circus Theatre, welcoming audiences from across the region to kick off a season of bold, genre-blending performances.

Minister Rachel Tamarit notes that Zoo stands among the leading acts in today’s music scene. This year’s tour includes stops across the Province and highlights performances in major cities such as Madrid and Barcelona. The circuit also reaches local communities, with a special emphasis on bringing high-caliber concerts to La Vega Baja. The Generalitat Culture team is collaborating with Orihuela’s local government to ensure the concert becomes a community-wide celebration, hosted in Orihuela and accessible to residents who might not otherwise travel to larger cities.

Gratitude is extended to the Orihuela Town Hall for the opportunities it provides and for its ongoing cooperation in organizing this show. Zoo’s recognition as the top winner of the 2021 Carles Santos Music Awards reflects their inventive fusion of rap, electronic textures, and Mediterranean rhythms, a combination that earned three awards for best urban music album, best tour, and best video. Tickets for the concert become available on September 13 through the official sales channel, with further details to be announced by the organizers. A subsequent press event on September 22 will reveal the complete circuit schedule, the artwork, and the unifying theme for this year’s edition.

Circuit Sonora

Circuit Sonora is a program of Generalitat Culture delivered through the Valencian Institute of Culture. It features bands and solo artists who previously reached the finals or won in the Carles Santos Valencia Music Awards, aiming to spread the region’s musical offerings and to de-seasonalize and amplify the recommendations recognized at the awards. The circuit is designed to showcase a diverse lineup, bridging established acts with emerging talents to widen access to live music across Valencia.

From the extraordinary opening night with Zoo in Orihuela, the fourth edition of Sonora will resume its roadshow from October through March under the banner Music makes you travel. The season will include an array of concerts and venues—small intimate rooms, intimate theatres, and larger cultural centers—each chosen to maximize audience engagement. Dates and locations will be announced in the lead-up to the tour, with organizers hinting at new collaborations, partnerships with regional venues, and opportunities for local communities to experience live performances near home.
