the Alicante based composer, guitarist and singer Sandra Monfort Circuit Sonora, organized by the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC) and gathering finalists and winners from across the Valencian Community, presents a concert this Wednesday at the University of Alicante Auditorium as part of the Carles Santos Valencia Music Awards lineup.
born in 1992, the young Pedreguer artist released his debut album in 2021. Reptile Angel Child (Hidden Track, 21) earned him a notable double win that year, earning the title revelation artist and best record of the year at the 2021 Carles Santos Awards. Interestingly, he collected another award alongside the band in this latest edition, joining forces with Majorcan Clara Fiol and Catalan Selma Bruna while securing best album of the year and one of the most popular traditional music albums for the work die jota.
monfort blends radiation with avant-garde, genealogy with modernity, and an organic feel with digital textures, weaving poetry into song. His career has thrived on these contrasts, creating a versatile profile where lyric and traditional ballad fuse with an unmistakable electronic pulse. A graduate of ESMUC (Catalan Higher Music School) with a specialization in Classical Guitar, he began performing as the composer and performer for the Valencian group Xaluq and now pursues a thriving solo path alongside the female trio Marala.
