The dates for the Siberian World International Ethnic Music Festival have been announced for the Krasnoyarsk region south, with information released by the regional Ministry of Culture through TASS.

The festival is scheduled to run from July 6 to July 9, 2023, in the village of Shushenskoye. Applications from musicians and dancers open on January 15. Organizers expect participants from Central Asian countries and numerous Russian cities to attend in 2023. The program includes concerts, lectures, master classes, and short performances that showcase a wide range of ethnic traditions.

From 2003 to 2012 the ethno-festival was known as the Sayan Ring. It is part of the national Culture project and in 2022 received support from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation under the UNESCO Commission of Russia. That year the event drew a record audience of 66.5 thousand spectators, highlighting its appeal and impact on regional culture.

Earlier announcements highlighted a planned multimedia performance titled Van Gogh. Letters to My Brother, presented by the Moscow Chamber Ensemble of Soloists under the baton of conductor Yuri Bashmet, with actor Yevgeny Mironov sharing the stage, and set to premiere on December 23 at the XXII International Winter Festival Art Square in Saint Petersburg. The Saint Petersburg Philharmonic’s Great Hall will host the related events in a distinguished setting that complements the festival’s diverse program.
