The Shalom Sabar Foundation has launched its sixth annual appeal to bolster culture and arts through practical support for creators in the Marina Alta region. The initiative invites cultural projects across any artistic discipline that are connected to Marina Alta and developed within the year. The emphasis remains on empowering local artists, entrepreneurs, and startups to grow and sustain vibrant cultural ecosystems in 2025.
Donations can be submitted through January 15, 2025, using the registration form available on the foundation’s website. The appeal’s timing and accessibility reflect the foundation’s ongoing commitment to timely funding for meaningful cultural initiatives.
Since its first edition in 2018, the program has funded 27 local projects, catalyzing a wide spectrum of cultural activity. Examples include music festivals, photography showcases, documentary productions, and record labels linked to exhibitions and other public events. The diverse activities supported illustrate the region’s cultural richness and the Foundation’s willingness to back innovative, cross-disciplinary work. Projects previously supported span documentary films such as Venim de Lluny, educational programs by Colectivo Miradas, and inclusive performances by Inefable Producciones. Other notable efforts include interactive pedagogical workshops like Interactive Music for Everyone, a variety of events by the Manuel Latur School of Music, and festival cycles such as Certamen de Musica Ocejón, Travel Cinema in Montgó, Red Eyes Photo Festival, and L’Esperança Coronada. These initiatives demonstrate how cultural programming can blend education, community engagement, and artistic experimentation in Marina Alta.
