Singer Sergei Belikov described a difficult period when he had to live in a rented apartment after his wife removed him from their home. His remarks were reported by Channel Five.
“About a year and a half ago, I suddenly found myself facing a wave of allegations from my family, especially from my wife with whom I shared more than four decades of life. They were harsh, unfounded charges in today’s terms, a flood of remarks that stung deeply,” the artist expressed with visible frustration.
Belikov shared that after the split he stayed with his son for a time, but urged his parents to seek a rental home as well. He clarified that he avoided arguing with his child because he did not want his relationship with his grandson to suffer because of the dispute:
“It is because of him that I did not damage the foundations on which my children and grandchildren rely. I gathered what I could from the street, rented a place, and now I live by myself.”
The musician is the father of two children with his wife Elena. His son Grigory brought him a grandson, and his daughter Natalya, who has lived in London since 1996, also has a grandson. Over the years, Belikov worked with notable groups such as Gems, and collaborated with figures like Yuri Antonov and Alexandra Pakhmutova. His solo repertoire includes songs such as “Sleeping Grass (Trouble has Green Eyes),” “Live, Spring,” “I Dream of a Village,” “Sentimental Walk,” and “Everything I Have in Life.”
Earlier reports mentioned his regret over certain decisions involving a famous performer who moved to Israel, a note that reflected the broader complexities often seen in the lives of long-time artists.
