Overview of the Residency Call

The call invites applicants from any discipline within the visual arts, welcoming artists and groups of all ages and nationalities to participate in the residency program. The opportunity aims to support creative production and fosters collaboration across diverse backgrounds.

A total of five scholarships will be awarded. Four scholarships provide a gross €500 each to support the development of individual projects. The remaining scholarship includes a provision that adds a gross €1,000 to cover travel and accommodation expenses for applicants residing outside of Alicante.

Applications should be submitted as a single project in PDF format to the designated email address. The file should not exceed 10 MB and must include documentation such as a project description, sketches, photographs, and any other relevant materials.

The call results will be announced in July on the MUA website. Residents commit to completing their project by the end of the residency period and to participating in a subsequent exhibition at the organization’s venue. The projects will be adaptable to the collective exhibition format, which MUA agrees to realize in September of the same year.

Since its inception, more than thirty artists have participated in these residencies. The program was established to support artists through naturalization processes and to encourage feedback and exchange during peak creative periods, strengthening the local and international art community through sustained collaboration.
