The Subject Research Group from Miguel Hernandez University presents a curated group exhibition in India featuring 18 artists. The event will take place on April 21 and 22 at Bhubaneswar KIIT Law School, aligning with the 4th Biennial International Exhibition IACLSC Religion and Interculturalism.
Professors from Miguel Hernández University, CIA researchers, and scholars from the University of Valencia, University of Granada, University of the Basque Country, and University of Salamanca join a roster of national and international artists to showcase their latest work. The exhibition highlights contemporary art research and its intersections with intercultural exchange.
Included in the show are two works by each of the 18 artists selected through a public call by the association. The participating artists are Ana Maya León, Amparo Halepuz, Daniel Tejero, Elia Torrecilla, Emilio Luis Fernández, Eugene Hyon, Imma Mengual, Jose Luis Lozano, DeAlbacete, Lourdes Santamaría, Mar Sueiras, Maria Jesús Cueto, Maria José Zanón, Pitividad Navallan Living, Teresa Chafer, and Vicente Barón.
Living Column Study and UMH Material Group are featured in association with this presentation.
The works span paintings, sculptures, and photographs and are shown in the exhibition hall of KIIT University Faculty of Law, an arrangement authorized for the congress, with a subsequent online display that became a permanent collection as of May 7, 2023.
Relegation examines the social and cultural dimensions of religion and interculturalism, while building bridges between diverse cultures. It brings together traditions that are distinct in their cultural concepts and values, inviting viewers to engage with cultural concepts and constructive values in a fresh light. The participating artists contribute to the intercultural dialogue by presenting their work in a way that honors diverse cultural perspectives and fosters mutual understanding.
The exhibition is organized by Professor Sarat Kumar Jena and Professor Pilar Viviente, directors of the educational research center IACLSC, and the International Association for Comparative Literature, Society and Culture. They also oversee the curatorship of the event. The collaboration includes IACLSC and the UMH Matter Research Group, which jointly coordinated the exhibition program and its curatorial framework.
