Reimagined Mystery at West Point: Poe and the Detective Duo

In 1830 on the Hudson River’s edge, at the venerable West Point Military Academy, a chilling sequence unfolds. The body of a student is found hanging, and soon after another student is discovered with his heart removed, the gruesome relic concealed within the morgue. The army, gripped by fear and uncertainty, turns to August Landor, a nearby veteran and detective who has long endured personal tragedy after losing his wife and daughter years earlier. His past misfortunes have driven him into a stubborn, sober resilience rather than self-destruction. Into Landor’s life comes Edgar Allan Poe, a 21-year-old student and a rising poet with two published collections, who becomes the detective’s assistant and a crucial voice in unraveling the mystery.
