Reborn: A London Executive Finds a New Life in El Campello

Sarah, a London executive, arrives in El Campello for a wedding and finds herself drawn into experiences that challenge the perfect life she believed she had. This marks the beginning of the ten-part web series Reborn, set against the backdrop of El Campello and featuring a broad cast from the local community who will soon learn how the story unfolds. The project is directed and written by Salvador Monleón, with Silvia Sánchez in the leading role.

The production, commissioned by the Ministry of Tourism, began streaming on the El Campello Tourism YouTube channel, with new episodes released weekly. The show’s narrative arc builds toward a grand finale to be screened at a cultural venue, as the last two episodes unfold in a live premiere setting. To date, viewers have flocked to YouTube, contributing to the growing viewership of the series.

“Friday is our day, and we will celebrate it with everyone,” notes Monleón, who will attend with the team and the production crew. The project draws on a diverse group from the municipality, with a strong Alicante influence and most participants hailing from El Campello. The director describes the story as existential, exploring themes of rebirth and transformative life choices.

The web series, produced by Lorenzo Segura, was filmed and edited in the months leading up to its release. The aim is to present the project at festivals and potentially explore longer-form appearances in the future. While it remains to be seen whether a second season will be pursued, the creator has already sketched out ideas for a continuing arc should the opportunity arise.
