PPT Open Art Fest: Alicante’s Inclusive Pulse of Contemporary Art

Five years shaped the early years of artistic training in Alicante from 2014 through 2019, setting a foundation for subsequent creative residencies and collaborative experiments. After two online iterations of A Quemarropa, the pandemic era sparked a new phase for Piedra Papel Tijera, leading to the opening of PPT Open Art, a festival designed to connect contemporary art with a broad urban audience. Spread over three weekends, the festival unfolds from Thursday to Saturday, beginning on the last weekend of September and continuing through mid October. Its mission is to reveal new artistic practices in a way that feels accessible to everyone, drawing on a diverse network of fifteen artists and experts who share a pedagogical approach that invites curiosity and participation across generations and backgrounds.
