Online cinema Start premiered the trailer for a new series about a playful Jewish curse called Poor Abramovichs. The storyline follows Borya Abramovich who battles mounting debts and strained relations with his children, leading to tension with his wife. The plot reveals that the Abramovich family has been cursed due to an ancestor of Chaim who once stole and desecrated a sacred Torah scroll.

Guided by the spirit of his grandfather who stumbles upon the truth, Borya decides to break the curse. The journey requires him to reconnect with family traditions, set the spirit of the old Chaim free, and relearn how to perform good deeds, according to the creators of the series.

The series Poor Abramovichs will stream on Start starting September 26. It will also be shown at the New Season online cinema festival in Sochi, with screenings at Rosa Khutor from September 7 to 12 in 2023.

Earlier, socialbites.ca mentioned the TV series expected to arrive in September and highlighted shows such as Sex Education, John Wick spin offs, The Boys spin off, The Return of The Morning Show, The Wheel of Time, and American Horror Story as notable upcoming titles.

In a recent interview, Sergey Zhukov shared that his daughter has a leading role in the series, adding an extra layer of anticipation for fans.
