The Moscow Zamoskvoretsky Court has taken under consideration a lawsuit filed by Philip Kirkorov, titled People’s Artist of Russia, against Lyubov Uspenskaya. The dispute centers on compensation for alleged harm to honor, dignity, and business reputation, with the claim amounting to 12 million rubles. The court’s decision to accept the case for review was confirmed during a meeting between the singer and her counterpart, as reported by RIA News through the voice of the artist’s attorney, Alexander Dobrovinsky.

Officials have scheduled the next session for March 11 at 14:30. The proceedings were initially submitted on December 13, but the process experienced delays due to the New Year holiday period, which typically sees a slowdown in court activity and official functions.

Dobrovinsky noted that the postponement was a routine outcome of the holiday season rather than any tactical move by either side. He added that the calendar shift allowed the court to assess the factors involved and determine the earliest feasible date for the first hearing after the holidays. The lawyer emphasized that there was no effort to reach a pre-trial settlement or to pursue a negotiated agreement between the two artists prior to the formal court process.

The case includes a request from Kirkorov for non-pecuniary damages totaling ten million rubles, to be paid by Uspenskaya. The amount is connected to a public interview given by the singer to blogger Alena Zhigalova in which she was accused of misogynistic remarks. The dispute also involves Zen.Platform and the social network VKontakte, where the interview was published and subsequently became a matter of legal contention.

In other news from the music world, a previous concert by Kristina Orbakaite was cancelled in Chita, drawing attention to the ongoing impacts of scheduling and public appearances on artists’ professional commitments.
