Performances of the Moscow Sovremennik Theater Canceled Due to Illness of Marina Neelova

The Moscow Sovremennik Theater announced the cancellation of performances featuring the People’s Artist of Russia Marina Neelova, citing her illness as the reason. The news outlet DEA News relayed the theater’s statement regarding the temporary disruption of the schedule.

“Marina Mstislavovna is unwell, so performances with her participation have been canceled for the time being,” a theater directorate representative said, confirming that forthcoming shows would be paused while her health was assessed.

At this time, the theater did not address media reports suggesting that Neelova had been hospitalized.

Marina Neelova, aged 76, is a revered People’s Artist of Russia known for a broad filmography that includes Autumn Marathon, Monologue, You are Alone, Dear Elena Sergeevna, and a number of other notable works.

On July 13, Mash Telegram channel reported a serious hospitalization for Neelova based on a personal source. The channel stated that the actress began experiencing abdominal pain in early July and sought medical attention. Following admission, doctors diagnosed non-infectious gastroenteritis and colitis. During further examinations, a neoplasm in the intestines was discovered and a biopsy was requested for clarification.

Earlier, there were reports concerning Mikhail Efremov’s family after an incident that involved a skull trepanation as a result of a fall through a window. This note appears in connection with ongoing coverage of medical events affecting public figures and their relatives.
