Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Yakutia, Alexander Podgolov, commented on the incident where a large family with a disabled child was asked to leave the hall during a concert held at the House of Friendship of Peoples, as reported by SakhaDay.

The woman who needed to leave said that the group was invited to attend as a large family. She described sitting with young children and several disabled people when workers requested that the seats be cleared, noting that officials and a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church were occupying the chairs. Among the guests of honor was Vice President Podgolov.

Podgolov stated that he did not see any fault on his part in what happened.

“Wait a minute, we did not eject anyone. It was the staff at the People’s Friendship House who had reserved a place for us in advance. The staff were not prepared. Perhaps extra chairs had not been brought. There was very little preparation here,” he said.

Separately, a Cranberries song that had become a sports anthem the day before sparked a broader controversy in Ireland.

Alexander Vasiliev, a fashion historian, offered an explanation for why the individual involved was not allowed to perform in certain cities.
