The Moscow Arbitration Court has ruled against the Motor Film Studio in its dispute with actor Viktor Khorinyak. The ruling, as reported by Life, states that the studio was denied the chance to collect 8 million rubles from Khorinyak for allegedly failing to provide warnings during the filming of the movie Love Does Not Happen. In the same decision, Khorinyak was ordered to compensate the studio with 178 thousand rubles, comprising 100 thousand rubles in penalties, 30 thousand for legal services, and 48 thousand rubles in state fees.
According to public records, the Motor Film Studio had contracted Khorinyak in March 2023 to portray the lead character Sasha in a romantic comedy. The studio advanced 800 thousand rubles and sent a work schedule for May, aiming to align the production timeline with subsequent shooting days.
Studio representatives claim that Khorinyak did not attend rehearsals on July 15 and did not appear for a reading on July 16. They argued that the actor did not provide valid reasons for his absences and later formally refused to participate in filming, choosing to return the advance. As a result, the studio proceeded to replace him with Vladimir Yaglich to keep the project on track.
Victor Khorinyak is widely recognized for his portrayal of the bartender Konstantin in the popular television series Kitchen and the projects Hotel Eleon and Grand, as well as for his role as Ivan Naydenov in the trilogy The Last Hero. His career has included a mix of television, cinema, and stage work, attracting a broad audience across Russia and neighboring markets.
In related entertainment news, Lolita had previously teased whether she would travel to Donbass following a controversial public event described as a provocative party. The broader industry context continues to intersect with legal and contractual disputes that can shape the timelines and casting decisions for major productions in the region.
