The group Monsters, in touch with fans in St. Petersburg, announced the postponement of a planned concert. The event, originally set for September 1, has been moved to December 15 and will be held at the Gazprom Arena. Officials have not shared a specific reason for the scheduling change, leaving attendees to wonder about the cause and its implications.

Fans who cannot attend on the new date were assured a full ticket refund. The representatives stated that such refunds will be processed, and they asked for patience if the reimbursement takes longer than expected as the party coordinates with ticketing partners to finalize the payments.

Earlier this year, during SPIEF-2023, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the band performed at a free concert that was later canceled. The event had been planned for June 16, but plans shifted due to changing circumstances surrounding public gatherings and security considerations in the city.

Prior to these developments, Konstantin Chebykin, a deputy with the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, addressed the city prosecutor, Viktor Melnik, to discuss the matter. The discourse referenced the group’s vocal criticisms of official policy toward Ukraine. Despite this, the group’s soloist Roman Bilyk reportedly traveled to a frontline area on August 22 to perform for Russian troops, illustrating a complex mix of public statements and on-the-ground appearances.

Earlier still, social commentator Ksenia Sobchak publicly supported Monsters in the wake of the concert cancellations in Russia, signaling public support from prominent figures amid the disrupting schedule shifts and debates surrounding organized music events in the country.
